Task Groups

Task Groups and Advisory Councils are a crucial component of commUNITY cares as they provide opportunities to their members to be actively involved in the outcomes of their specific plans.

Technical Assistance Task Group

Identifies, delivers, and coordinates needed training and technical assistance activities among providers and stakeholders; takes the lead in integrating System of Care principles in the community via a variety of conduits (i.e., local universities and community colleges, civic organizations, family and youth organizations, schools, local and state service providers).

Cultural & Linguistic Competence Task Group

Works to ensure that all aspects of commUNITY cares is culturally and linguistically appropriate, including, but not limited to, all aspects of culture, race, ethnicity, gender, social economic status, age, geographic region, etc.

Social Marketing Task Group

Clinical Services & Evidence-Based Practices Task Group

Identifies and schedules the development of programs and services that are needed but not already provided in the community, and identifies and selects Evidence-Based Practices for youth with serious emotional disorders and substance misuse treatment. Helps to insure fidelity to the model of each Evidence-Based Practices and effective implementation of formal and non-formal treatment options.

Outlines steps leading to the long range sustainability of commUNITY cares including, but not limited to, the identification and involvement of family and youth representatives, key decision makers, local and state leaders, media, legislators, etc. Provides leadership in the identification and acquisition of match and other funding for the life of the initiative and beyond.
